Ars Lyrica officially opens its 2020/21 season of Turning Points with a Bastille Day celebration in partnership with Rienzi, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston house museum for European decorative arts. Artistic director Matthew Dirst will perform on harpsichord, organ, and fortepiano, and will be joined by Colin St-Martin on traverso and Barrett Sills on viola da gamba. The ensemble will present an all-French program interspersed with commentary on historical French music and culture. In addition to the concert, Rienzi and Ars Lyrica will offer virtual activities and educational segments in this festive online celebration.
The concert broadcast begins at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 14.
