We invite you to join us for our Maria’s Magical Music Adventure Fundraiser Luncheon on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Tony’s, the elegant Italian restaurant in Upper Kirby. Benefiting ALH outreach initiatives, the event will include a gourmet luncheon and a live reading and book signing by author and composer Emma Kent Wine, accompanied by live string quartet. Attendees will also receive signed copies of Maria’s Magical Music Adventure.

The Maria’s Magical Music Adventure Fundraiser Luncheon and children’s book are underwritten by Connie Kwan-Wong and CKW LUXE Magazine.

Your support will enable Maria’s Magical Music Adventure live performances with music at:

• Children’s Museum Houston

• Menil Neighborhood Community Day at Rothko Chapel

• Harris County Public Libraries

• HISD elementary schools

• Heights Kids’ Day of Music

• and an exciting new collaboration with Express Children’s Theatre to premiere a brand-new children’s play based on the book

Maria meets Matthew the musical magician, and the two travel back in time almost 300 years to meet Antonio Vivaldi. Next stop: Venice, Italy!

Maria’s Magical Music Adventure is an Ars Lyrica Houston children’s book, underwritten by Connie Kwan-Wong and CKW LUXE Magazine. The book features a girl named Maria, who loves to sing. When Matthew the Magician appears, Maria is hesitant, but after Matthew explains that he is a magical musician with the ability to time travel, the two travel to Venice, Italy to meet Antonio Vivaldi, who has just written The Four Seasons. With breathtaking illustrations and a story full of adventure and excitement, Maria’s Magical Music Adventure transports readers back in time alongside Maria and Matthew, delighting and inspiring audiences of all ages.

Maria’s Magical Music Adventure includes a glossary of musical terms and composers, providing additional historical and cultural context for the story.
