A one-hour lecture recital commemorating the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus and the Polish Constitution Day! Free admission, with registration recommended.
This concert is presented by Ars Lyrica Houston and sponsored by the Consulate General of Poland in Houston. This concert will not be live-streamed.
Program
✧ Professor Christopher Johns-Krull, Chair of the Department of Astronomy at Rice University, will give a talk on Copernicus and music of the spheres
✧ Mezzo-Soprano Cecilia Duarte and percussionist Jesús Pacheco Mánuel will create an immersive experience with celestial music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance
✧ Ars Lyrica Executive Director Kinga Ferguson will sing Polish psalms from the time of Copernicus
